Very well built product. The unit is on the heavy side. So make sure if it is going to be rack mounted please make sure your rack can handle the weight.
This is a worthy upgrade. The sucker is blazing fast, it's quiet, and temperature wise. The added bonus is is it goes to my server rack so it looks really nice.
The form factor and ability to connect to a 10 GbE network are the biggest benefits on this series of NAS at this price point.
The unit is nice and seems well built but it seems way too expensive for what it is.
Finally pulled the trigger and bought a NAS, symbology has many useful features I was looking for - efficient use of the drives, monitoring and utilities, easy and quick upgrading and management of storage pools, UPS integration, ability to run Plex and other server types, replication, SSD caching, and more. The only downside is the loudness of the fans, if this is in the same room as you are. Fans are replaceable with quiet versions, then its very quiet. These are designed for server rooms, so noise isnt a focus for this model understandably. I can see why these are so popular.
