Review of Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT with better beats
Share
Hi, this is Monalisha once again from TPS Technologies. I got my hands on with another headphones - and I am here to share my experience with them for little over sixty days of usage! A review cannot get better than this.
They say, "Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular words. It speaks emotions". Without a great sound quality, you can't really feel the natural rhythm, your kinda rhythm. I am certain that it is my 'music love' that often leads me down the deep rabbit hole for many hours. After digging through some initial recommendations from our product expert, I emerged from the hole with a winner: "Audio Technica ATH-M50x BT" and Love at First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth sight. I am using this headphone for two months and I got crazy about it. Let us quickly walk your through some ratings I would assign.
Maybe fewer people know about its origin. Audio-Technica is a Japanese company that designs and manufactures professional microphones, headphones, phonographic magnetic cartridges, and other audio equipment. It was established in 1962 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, by Hideo Matsushita as a phonograph cartridge manufacturer.
Pros
- Great sound
- Excellent battery life
- Folds down for storage
- Bluetooth 5
- aptX support
- Alexa and Google Assistant Support
Cons
- Price a bit high
- Bluetooth carries some drawbacks
- Average Noice cancellation
The Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT offers great sound quality both with and without wires. They have an open sound with enough bass to satisfy most users. The Bluetooth controls are well integrated and the inclusion of a separate cable with an integrated mic is a real boon.

Who are the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT for?
- Any individual who preferred the first ATH-M50 or the ATH-M50x will cherish the upgrade with ATH-M50xBT. It is wireless when you want it to be.
- My youth peer group will appreciate ATH-M50xBT due to its bass - overwhelming sound, and by and large high stable quality even during top volume levels.
- Musicians will love these as a set of studio monitors a lot of like the wired form of ATH-M50.
- In case you're searching for a step up in sound quality, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT is the coherent advance up for some.
Token inside the box
First Impressions to me
At first glance, I noticed that the M50xBTs were designed (crafted rather) even for rough handling. It is made of thick hard-wearing plastic that has a solid yet comfortable texture. There are only a few sliver touches of metal in the design — inside the headband and as contrasting accents on the exterior — to break up the matte black monotony. You can feel the spongy earpad, head pad and appreciate the 360 degrees rotation of the earpiece. It is an over-the-head Bluetooth wireless headphone which will make your day.
Connect me with “Connect App”
Install the app “connect” and connect it with Bluetooth on your mobile, and then you can enjoy the benefits of this app. I found the app good to have. Here are some screenshots I captured from my phone, for your reference.
Super Exciting things
Hold your finger against the left side Audio Technica faceplate for two seconds and you will be surprised that it will activate either Google Assistant or Siri on your phone. Isn't it supper amazing?
The headphones are built around a pair of 45mm drivers with a claimed frequency response of 15Hz to 20kHz. They're more sensitive than most of the competitions in this price range. Though it is a premium product, you woul not need to handle it delicately. You can enjoy it at your pace and preferences. It adjusts with your usage easily.
The headphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5, aptX along with AAC codecs and can play for up to an impressive 40 hours of continuous use. And it is my personal opinion that I literally got tired of using them continuously, hoping to drain the batteries soon. But the headset will not give up!! [giggling]
Despite the heavy battery life, they may be no longer uncomfortably heavy at 310 g (10.9 oz). Another component the brand has fixed since the authentic M50x is with the inclusion of an in-line mic on the optional 1.2m cable.
This wireless headphone has a sound that veers more towards popular appeal than studio quality. The 45mm drivers and the support for aptX combine to aim for high-end sound on a budget. While they never really come close to being recommendable for studio mixing, they’re quite great for listening on the go and at home. And its bass (the lowest part of the musical range) is super awesome (without any discussion or arguments). I can bet on this.
In terms of connectivity, the M50xBT gave me a great experience. Walking around an entire apartment only saw connection drops at least two walls apart, where most headphones cannot hold a connection flawlessly when the line of sight is broken by even one wall. I discovered that M50xBT can cover about 7-8 meter distance easily, without a snap.
Little bad in me
M50xBT is a premium device. I felt they could have placed it with be little better pricing. Againm it has all those things, but an active noise cancellation would have been better to make it even more compelling.
At last, as a real user of Audio Technica ATH m50x BT, I found it quite wonderful as a Bluetooth/wireless as well as wired headset. You can use it for as many hours without any sweating, heat, ear pain, or heavyweight feel. Its standby capacity is 200 hrs (not a joke).
Finally, “To live is to be musical, starting with the blood dancing in your veins. Everything living has a rhythm.” If you agree with me, then please stay tuned and spread it out a bit.
Verdict
Regarding the “bang for the buck” – there are no regrets at all with these pair of headphones. I personally recommend this set of cans to anyone who has a budget around the price of the Audio Technica ATH-M50x, and who wants versatility, sturdiness, good sound, and great value all in one package.
