Product Description:
The Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone is designed for vocal and general instrument capturing in project and professional studio environments.
AT2020 features a low-mass, side-address diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern for rejecting ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the microphone capsule.
High SPL handling and wide dynamic range allow the AT2020 to capture loud signals with minimal noise and distortion. It includes a pivoting, threaded stand mount for accurate positioning.
A linear frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz enables the flexibility to accurately reproduce signals from a wide variety of sources.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The cardioid polar pattern of the microphone is more sensitive to sound originating directly in front of the element, making it useful in controlling feedback, reducing pickup of unwanted sounds and providing isolation between performers.
Unmatched Versatility
The AT2020 is capable of handling high SPL sound without overload and the wide dynamic range provides unmatched versatility on stage or in the studio.
Low-Mass Diaphragm
Custom-engineered low-mass diaphragm provides extended frequency response and superior transient response.
Pivoting, Threaded Stand Mount
Pivoting, threaded stand mount attaches securely for easy and precise placement of the microphone.
Ideal for project/home-studio
The performance standard in side-address studio condenser microphone technology, making it ideal for project/home-studio applications.

The overall performance of this microphone is an excellent, if any body who wants to have a small home studio, under budget 35000 they should buy Audio interface Ur12, jbl k4 monitors, with this microphone, this is the best combination according to my opinion, rest is your choice
If you are a budget home studio owner like me just buy an Audio Technica AT 2020 and Behringer XM 8500 and don't look back. You can do wonders using this combination. Concentrate on improving your micing and mixing techniques and you can absolutely give Pro quality songs. ( Use Musescore notation and Cakewalk DAW both are free Pro level software, Focusrite Scarlet Solo can be used for mid Side micing using two input ports). In this modern age it's so fascinating how you can get such a high quality products in low cost. Now about AT 2020. This mic is an flat response mic from 20 to 20khz. It covers the entire hearing spectrum so you can record Bass to Picollo and anything in between. The problem with Condenser mics in this price range is that they boost certain frequency in presence region to create hype. It may sound good initially but it will make your voice sound artificial. But this is one beauty of a mic which doesn't do that. I strongly recommend Audio Technica products for all home studio owners like me. Their mic and their monitor headphones are top notch in half the price.I don't see any cons. Superb build quality.Enjoy creating.
I'm not a sound engineer but I can tell good sound from a crappy one. When recording my voice overs, recording my vocals without any filters or effects, this mic sounds really clean, clear and bright.
AT2020 became a studio standard because of its crystal clear and balanced sound for quite a low price. Before buying it I’ve watched a lot of mics comparison videos on YouTube. Most of the mics in this price range are being compared to AT2020 and that’s for reason.AT2020 sound is rich and balanced. Suitable for recording vocals, instruments, almost anything. Versatile mic. Very good build quality.
Overall a good product but slightly overpriced
